** UPDATE: THE NINTH DRAW HAS OCCURRED, MORE DETAILS HERE: http://www.ruichenlaw.com/lawblog/2015/5/22/express-entry-draw-9-
Last Friday, CIC drew the eighth Express Entry and 715 applicants were invited to apply with the lowest CRA points being 453.
Building on our previous forecasts, we've again looked ahead to some possible future draws. (Please note these forecasts are speculative only!) The CRA points appear to have settled around the 450 point mark - which is great news for potential applicants. An LMIA or PNP was required for the first four draws, so since March applicants don't need a previous job offer to make Express Entry happen for them.
The draws tend to occur later on Friday nights so our forecasting only highlights Fridays... there are generally one or two weeks between draws. We predict another draw on May 1st, a tenth draw on May 8th, an eleventh draw on May 22 and a twelveth draw on June 5th. That is consistent with the pattern of draws thus far; however as CIC suggested they would only be having 15-20 total Express Entry draws for 2015, it stands to reason a period of increased staggering may occur as the summer begins.
As for the question of the number of applicants, that figure has fluctuated. Draws 5 and 6 were considerably higher (both above 1500 invites) but the most recent draw saw only 715 invites. This may be a sign that Express Entry is either gaining all the applicants it needs or is holding back for future draws.
Perhaps later in the year we will see draws with less frequency but with a much higher number of invitees? We will continue to monitor the situation and have new updated forecasts as the future Express Entry draws are held.
