In what may end up being the final Express Entry Draw for 2016, and the 49th overall, there were a total number of 1936 candidates who were sent an Invitation to Apply yesterday on December 16th. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points required plummeted down to 497.
This draw is a radical departure from the previous draw: 559 (nearly one fourth as many applicants) were invited to apply on November 30th. Additionally, the CRS points for that draw were the highest on record: 786.
It will be very interesting to see what happens in 2017. Will the draws revert to more stable numbers or will they continue to shift drastically as CIC interprets the demand for permanent residents?
